[fontforge-users] Installation on OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

I’m getting back to FontForge after a long hiatus.

I’m running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

What is the best (working) method for installing FontForge for me?
1. brew?
2. instructions at http://fontforge.github.io/en-US/downloads/mac/?

I’m having trouble with both. I’ll gladly supply more details after getting
advice about brew/no-brew.
