I am trying to get the following font to work:
http://www.cbeta.org/download/cbreader/siddam.zip
It comes from this website:
https://tongphuockhai.wordpress.com/2011/01/29/software-siddham-lantsa/
They use it in Windows using a VB interface to Word, but I want to use it on
Ubuntu 15.04 in Libre Writer.
When I load it into Ubuntu it does not display properly in Libre Writer.
When I run gnome-font-viewer on it it gets the following:
$ gnome-font-viewer siddam.ttf
(gnome-font-viewer:9578): GLib-CRITICAL **: Source ID 14 was not found when
attempting to remove it
I downloaded FontForge to see if I could see the font and fix it. I can see
the font, and it has many errors, but I tested some other fonts I was using
and they had many of the same errors as well, but worked fine in Libre
Writer.
I tried to export the font from FontForge back as a TTF and get the
following:
Internal Error:
Attempt to output 68876 into a 16-bit field. It will be truncated and the
file may not be useful.
If I run gnome-font-viewer again I get the same results. Also the exported
version does not load into Libre Writer so I cannot test the performance
there.
Any suggestions on this. I believe I can use FontForge to fix the specific
error that is preventing it from being viewed in gnome-font-viewer, and that
will make it work in Libre Writer, but I know nothing about font file
formats and have never used FontForge before.
If someone could point me in the right direction or walk me through it I
would appreciate it greatly.
Thank you.
